I’d been wanting to try this beer for some time (years) and I’m really disappointed. It’s relevancy is sure to the fact that I’ve been disappointed by a lot of commercial beer for a while now. I appreciate the effort and stress and blood and sweat these breweries are putting in, but it’s not paying off. Their final products don’t shine or impress me. Now, I’m not a cultural elitist and I’ve made some crap fucking beer. I’ve also tried some esoteric beer with unicorn horns and puppy days or whatever and been really pleased with the outcome (Dogfish Head’s Bitches’ Brew comes to mind), but I guess what I’m saying is: why aren’t the beers improving? Why aren’t the brewers keeping the formulas simple and beer-esque? Not to get all “Fiddler on the Roof”, but where’s the tradition?
